Holbrook's Wharf

I was in Maine for a reggae festival and my friend wanted some lobster, so we jumped in the car and rode through the scenic area along the water and there it was. Outdoor dining by the water. Really nice place. I’m a vegetarian so I just ordered a grilled cheese and fries. My friend ordered like a whole plate of clams and lobster. She destroyed it. I asked how it was and she said it’s difficult to mess up clams and lobster but the way it’s done in Maine is better. Lobster is a part of their culture. In fact on the way there and back we saw lobster traps on peoples front lawns. So it seems that the working waterfront people know their stuff and this place is a reflection on that excellence. The grilled cheese sandwich and the sweet potato fries were yummy also.

What an amazing gem! My sister loved the lobster roll and I had the best BLT! Everything was so fresh! Beautiful (covered) deck with amazing views! (And the restroom was sparkling clean.)

Delicious seafood in a casual, outdoor setting with an amazing view. Order at the window and pick up when your number is called, then eat at picnic tables in either the sunny area or covered area of the wharf. BYOB or purchase alcohol at the old general store next door. Fun place to meet friends. We usually get haddock sandwiches and onion rings, but changed it up with one Holbrook's Cobb Salad with blackened shrimp, asparagus, avocado, and tomatoes over greens. Tasty and fresh. The haddock sandwich is smaller than in previous years, but still good. We'll keep this on our list to get to at least once a season.

We’re so glad to see that the Hawkes family is back at this cherished Harpswell spot! Nothing says summer like a trip to Holbrooks. As always, the food was very fresh, staff greets you like family and the view is unbeatable. We’ll be back!

Delicious homemade chowders!! The fisherman's platter is awesome! Their scallops are the best I've ever had and I'm a Mainer! Super friendly and attentive to details like extra tartar, cocktail sauce And extra crispy fries. Curmudgeons abound but this place is a huge hit! Music and trivia on the wharf.. great seafood, gorgeous views. Definitely a destination! :)

TLDR: Just visit this place, you will not regret it! This place is one of the best places we’ve had in Maine and we’ve been to quite a few restaurants in the past 3 years visiting Maine. The service was exceptional as well, Liza was one of the nicest people we have meet in Maine and gave great recommendations. We will definitely be coming back in the future! Review: We have been to Portland, Bar Harbor and Brunswick. We’ve tried many places and out of them all I have to say hands down this is one of not the best spot we have had the pleasure of visiting. My wife had a basket of Haddock and Scallops w/ fries. I ordered a basket w/ a shrimp roll and had a bowl of lobster stew. The fries were hot, crispy and soft on the inside. The Haddock was nice and tender on the inside while still being crispy. The lobster roll was fantastic! It had a great amount of lobster and the bread was crispy. The price was also good given the amount of food you get. The service was amazing, Liza was super nice and one of the nicest people in Maine we have had the pleasure of meeting. Honestly this was a gem of a find in Maine. We will definitely be back for more in the future!

What a special place! A charming location overlooking the wharf! The staff is very friendly and treats you like family. The lobster roll was incredibly fresh, like caught earlier in the am! A generous portion was served and just so fresh! Gary Hawkes, the owner and working lobsterman, is incredibly personable. He took the time to answer our questions, talk to us about the process of catching lobsters, and all the work that goes into it. He is a very genuine person, and was very kind, and really gave of his time to make us feel welcome. Deena operates the gift shop and is super friendly as well! We will definitely return!
